Dova

Guitar, Piano | Wilsonville

Dova has been playing piano since they were four years old. Through every low moment and big celebration, they found music to be their special interest and a constant source of joy and comfort. They began teaching piano privately in 2013 when a family member finally agreed to let them share their talent. Since then, their passion for teaching has only grown, with a focus on creating a supportive and positive learning environment. They have a deep love for classical music and film soundtracks, particularly Impressionist composers like Debussy, Ravel, Jeremy Soule, and Howard Shore. Their unique perspective on music allows them to introduce their students to rich, textured pieces that evoke emotion and creativity. Their lessons often feature anything from classical repertoire and soundtracks, creating a well-rounded and engaging musical education tailored to every individual student. As a teacher, they believe the goal is not to mold the next Mozart but to help each student leave every lesson feeling confident and encouraged. They emphasize that success in music comes from the joy of playing and the personal growth it brings, not from perfection. Their teaching style reflects this, ensuring that every student, regardless of ability, feels supported and inspired to keep pursuing their passion for music.

“Music in itself is healing. It’s an explosive expression of humanity. It’s something we are all touched by. No matter what culture we’re from, everyone loves music.”
- Billy Joel
