Mark studied classical piano from childhood and continued with advanced education at the University of Oregon. Comfortable with numerous musical genres, he is in demand as both an accompanist and teacher and enjoys sharing his love of music with students of all ages. He has a wealth of experience in teaching piano, spanning 40+ years, and focuses on helping students establish good skills in rhythm, accuracy, and sight-reading. He is especially skilled at explaining the intricacies of music theory. He has been the pianist at a church with a large music program for decades. His piano artistry can be heard on the radio program Joni and Friends, and his instrumental arrangements have been performed by major orchestras including the London Symphony, the Boston Pops, and the Dallas Symphony.
