Quentin

Violin | Happy Valley

Quentin’s passion for the violin began at the remarkable age of three, and he has been immersed in music ever since. His training includes weekly private lessons throughout his youth and significant orchestral experience. He served as Concertmaster of the Centre College Symphony Orchestra, where he honed his skills performing diverse repertoire and duet works. Since 2018, Quentin has shared his expertise through teaching private students ranging from age six to fifteen. His approach is highly adaptable, relying primarily on the Suzuki Violin Books to build strong fundamentals while tailoring lessons to each student’s musical interests and goals. Quentin believes effective teaching requires multiple communication styles, patiently exploring different methods until concepts truly resonate. He actively encourages student questions, fostering curiosity and ownership over the learning journey. Recognizing the demanding nature of the violin, he emphasizes consistent practice as the key to unlocking progress and enjoyment. Quentin is deeply committed to his students’ growth, finding immense joy in their achievements. He strives to motivate each learner appropriately, balancing encouragement with gentle challenges. He is understanding that students have varied commitments and that violin mastery may not be everyone’s ultimate aim, focusing instead on cultivating appreciation and personal accomplishment within a supportive environment.

We're social!
“Music in itself is healing. It’s an explosive expression of humanity. It’s something we are all touched by. No matter what culture we’re from, everyone loves music.”
- Billy Joel
